DIY Tunnel House

Tim has done an outstanding job building a tunnel house, to create the perfect conditions for growing nice big veges. He identifies a dripline irrigation setup as a key factor in the success of the hothouse, as evidenced in the photos of his first harvest: cricket ball size heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, and gherkins (now preserved in vinegar spice).

The proof is undeniably in the pudding! In Tim’s own words, here’s some further details on the project:

“I got the timber framing, louvres & plastic sheet from Musgroves to build this tunnel house, all materials approx $700-800. It’s very strong and can stand all weather conditions well, measuring 3.2 x 3.2 x 2.8.”
