At Musgroves, nothing makes us prouder than seeing the creativity and craftsmanship of our customers – and this Macrocarpa transformation is a real standout.
Back in January, Leonard picked up a large, solid piece of Macrocarpa from our yard. From that single slab, he created not one but two beautiful pieces of furniture – a coffee table and a side table – with plans for a third on the way.
Here’s what Leonard did:
- Cut the Macrocarpa into three workable sections.
- Carefully filled natural cracks and gaps with clear epoxy resin.
- Sanded it all back and rounded the corners for a smooth finish.
- Applied four coats of clear benchtop oil to bring out the timber’s stunning grain.
- Finished it off with sleek black anodised aluminium legs, custom-built using Rapidmesh components.
We love how this project blends rustic character with a modern edge – and we’re stoked that our timber was the starting point. Click through the photos to see the process from start to finish – and keep an eye out for that third table!
