Neil’s back on the Wall of Fame with a handsome set of chopping boards and wooden spoons that show off beautiful contrasts of Australian Hardwood, English Oak and Kwila. From straight stripes to bold diagonals and a round, cross-inlaid board, every piece is a lesson in grain, colour and careful craft.

How he did it: Neil cut the timbers into strips, arranged the patterns, then glued them together before running them through a planer. Gaps were filled with black epoxy resin, edges were eased, and everything was sanded silky-smooth to 400 grit. Two coats of quality chopping board oil brought them to life and sealed the set for kitchen duty.

Why we love it: simple techniques, premium results. The mix of species gives strength and style, the finish is practical, and the matching spoons complete the story. It’s the kind of project that turns timber into everyday joy—less waste, more purpose.
