Neil turned recycled rimu slabs from Musgroves into a handsome home for his Blu-Ray collection. He cut the slabs into crisp box walls and a hinged front door, then added plastic dividers so each disc has its own bay. The artwork is printed directly onto the timber, letting the warm rimu grain show through, and a Danish Oil finish gives it a rich, durable glow.

Look closely and you’ll spot clever details: decorations and the handle crafted from key rings, fixed with nuts and bolts, plus four discreet plastic feet with felt pads so it sits softly on any surface. It’s tidy, inventive, and built to last—proof that recycled timber can still steal the show.

This project brings order to a sprawling movie universe much like one well-placed shield on a stand—simple, purposeful, and unmistakably cool.
