5 Ways With Bricks & Pavers

Brick & Paver Montage

Summer is a great time to get out in the garden, but if yours is looking a little bare or uninteresting, here’s some great ideas for projects to smarten up your garden using hard landscaping products such as pavers, cobbles and bricks.

1. Garden Bed Edging

Use rectangle pavers to add an edge to your lawn for easy mowing, and to create a clean edge on your garden bed, helping to keep your soil in place. This not only looks pretty but will save you time in the garden when it comes to mowing the lawn.

2. Garden Bench Seat

Use bricks and pavers to create an attractive seating area in your garden. The example here has a lovely curve, but you can create something just as pretty with a straight wall and bench seat.

3. Brick & Moss Pathway

This project is very versatile as you could create a patio area, pathway or a new drive using bricks, cobbles or pavers. Between the hard landscaping you could plant moss, grass or even small succulents or herbs which would grow around the hard surfaces and soften the look over time.

4. Cobble & Timber Steps

Here, some garden steps have been given a contemporary look by combining pavers and a timber frame. Not only does this look great, but it will prevent the edges of your steps getting wobbly over time, as paved steps tend to do, and you won’t need to use lots of concrete and mortar to hold everything together. Use cobbles, small pavers or bricks for this project.

5. Brick Paving

This clever design uses second hand brick pieces to create a beautiful patterned patio. Use up your brick scraps to create a pretty design to bring pattern and texture to your garden. A small patio in a favourite spot in your garden is a great feature and a useful place to put a breakfast table or area to sit and read a good book.
