Gary was looking to build a special jewellery and keepsake box for his daughter. He visited Musgroves in search of the perfect materials and discovered a piece of an old rimu door in one of the sheds. After cleaning off the paint, he was delighted to find a beautiful grain pattern underneath.
He then recut the blank into thinner strips, making sure to save the best piece of timber for the lid panel. This project is a great example of how recycled materials that might otherwise end up in a landfill can be a more cost-effective and unique option than buying new.
