Recycled rimu surrounds

In having his house rewired, Blaise’s electrician had to cut holes of various sizes in the walls, with one being man-hole sized (to access a blocked-off section of his roof). He made an access door to cover the hole until it was next needed, and used rimu timber, including recycled tongue and groove flooring lengths, for the door.

One hole for a new switch needed to be big enough for the electrician’s hand and as a result it would require replastering. As an alternative, Blaise made a light switch surround finger plate from recycled Rimu.
