Recycled Timber Chess Board

Nic purchased the timber he needed for his reclaimed chess board base from Musgroves and used a nifty technique to achieve the distressed effect by hatching the black squares (see video). This effect tied in perfectly with a painting frame that he was given to create an edge for the board.

He gave the completed set to his friend who already had the chess pieces—good teamwork to make hours of future gameplay possible. Congrats Nic, your DIY gambit definitely paid off!
